disneydream06My letter to the editor was published today.
Not surprisingly, they did edit out "teabaggers".
Extremely ironicly right about my letter was a letter encouraging people to vote Yes and write bigotry into our state constitution.
His letter is hilarious because I LOVE people that try to convince you to do one thing by sounding like they are arguing for the other side. I must share his thoughts. You tell me which side he's on.....
Legal equality for gay marriage will mean there can be no discrimination in favor of heterosexual couples in any sphere, including adoption and custody. Social workers showing preference to heterosexual couples in foster care or adoption placement will lose their jobs or face lawsuits.
Adults are sending editorials and putting up placard for freedom-- their freedom. But some freedoms are at the expense of other freedoms. Our constitution was established to promote the general welfare of all persons, as opposed to the interests of a narrow section or class of the population.
Let us vote for the common good. When you vote, ask yourself this question: Would you like to grow up without a mother, or without a father?
Vote yes for the children who cannot vote or write editorials or put up placards. Vote for their freedom to have a mother and a father, to grow up in a traditional family.

He openly admits he WANTS to legally discrimate against the LGBT community.
He openly thinks that people should not be allowed to express thier opinions.
The constitution was not established for a narrow section or class of the population unless of course it's HE'S narrow minded class of the population.
What is wrong with the people that grew up with one parent? Whether it was the woman's choise to have a baby on her own, a heterosexual man adopts a baby on his own, a parent dies/is murdered and leaves a single parent, parents divorce or walk out?????

Does the Constitution (which I have read, mind you) not say "all men are created equal"? Granted, it was written in 1776 when slaves were not "men" and women didn't count...but still. As we have evolved (there's an ironic thought) as a country have we not amended that belief system? Black men are now...men. Created equal. Women have their rights; kind of. So, what about us? The LGBT community? Where do we stand on this?
It's kind of sickening to think that there's that much hate for someone. Just...sad. But, who am I? Another "undesirable."
