Oct. 24th, 2011 02:39 amI have been home now for a couple of hours after seeing The Rocky Horror Show up in Minneapolis.
It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We made a stop at IKEA first.
thirteenrocks had a few things to pick up, and I just kind of marveled at the place. My first time. I am not an IKEA virgin any more either. lol...
Then we made our way over to the theater. It is situated in an old factory warehouse district. Most of them appear to be converted to Condos. One of the old buildings apparently use to be a Cremettes factory. Cremettes for those of you not in the know makes dry noodles.
We walked up and down the block to waste a little time and then came back to the theater.
The Lab theater is a black box style theater.
I had bought "VIP" tickets which gets you reserved seating areas free drink(pop) and popcorn and a lanyard. As we went in one of the ladies/ushers told us we should get seats on the stage. I was thinking, Okay... So we get down to the theater area and the lady down there sits us on the floor/stage area. and the seats were on wheels. I was thinking this can't be good. lol..........
It was actually great being that close to the action for this show. :):):)
Between a couple of the dancers/party guest people and Rocky there was some yummy eye candy. :)
As for the roll around seats? We started out facing the curtain and shortly into the show they came around and swung us back up against the raised seats. A little later in the show they played doosey doe with some of the seats pushing them from one side to the other. Not our seats though. Towards the end of the show they swung up back out to face the curtains and then swung us back up against the seats again. Those last two swings had the hunky dancer/guest dude practically pushing in my lap. hehehe...........
During intermission I saw somebody I actually knew. Doug who use to be the Technical Director of the Rochester Civic Theater several years ago. And I realized that the director/producer of the play was a young guy that was from Rochester.
On the way out
thirteenrocks asked if it was okay if we just headed for home instead of getting something to eat. He wasn't feeling good/really bad headache. Of course I told him no problem. We got out of Minneapolis proper and he asked me if I felt comfortable driving his car. He was feeling really crappy. So I took over the controls and drove home. :o Started to feel kind of sleepy towards the end but I made it.
Part of me is so tempted to try and go back next weekend to see it again. :p

Date: 2011-10-24 09:33 am (UTC)Glad you enjoyed Ikea. I went to the one in Charlotte a few weeks ago and had an excellent time. Even think it's time to start saving for an absolutely perfect sectional sofa they had....
Too bad we'd just eaten a big breakfast before going. I want to try the restaurant. Swedish meatballs might be common in Minnesota, but they're something you just don't find everyday in NC.... ;)

I can honestly say that I've never been to a theater performance where I sat in rolling chairs - sounds absolutely perfect!!!
Hope you got rested up.

Date: 2011-10-24 04:21 pm (UTC)I had a BLAST.
Not sure if I told you this, but yeah--at the S.A. stop, I totally lost my cookies in the bathroom! Wasn't good. Once I got home and actually "ate" something, I felt a skosh better. THank you again for everything!
Re: THANK YOU!
