disneydream06I went back to the movies last night. :)
I decided to see Green Lantern and as long as I could get discount tickets through work I thought I would give Cars 2 another try.
Green Lantern was a pretty good movie.
I think it was a typical comic book movie that is first for the character. It was more introduction than really good storyline. That said, it wasn't too bad of a story, just a little thin.
My biggest problem with the movie was the CGIing of his costume. It was just too distracting for me. You see his natural neck and head, and the rest is just CGI'd over his body. All the other superheros have had "real" costumes and for the most part most have looked okay. Ryan Reynolds has a terrific body, what would have been wrong with a simple latex suit hugging his muscles? If they had to, they could have CGI'd the "pulsing" energy over his costume. I don't remember his costume "pulsing" in the comic books. At least not back when I read them.
They of course set up a sequel during the credits, so hopefully it will make enough money to make it worth making the sequel.
I guess I would give it a grade of B+.
Cars 2 the repeat visit was okay.
I swear either I can't go see movies that late or there was something wrong with that theater.
I was perfectly fine watching Green Lantern, but when I walked across the hall and sat down in the other theater to see Cars 2 I was instantly sleepy. lol... I did catch myself nodding off again. At least this time I am pretty sure it was during scenes that I was awake for last time. So I am pretty sure I have seen the whole movie now. :p
Despite the sleepies, I did enjoy the movie, in fact I think I enjoyed it a little more.
I think I will bump the grade up a little to a solid B.

Date: 2011-06-30 10:42 am (UTC)I once saw two stage plays in one day. That was rough the first was Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? It's over 3 hours long. The second was Civil War. It was kind of a dull couple of hours. My head bounced several times during the second one. LOL.................
