The "I Rest My Case Beauty Pageant Contestants Are Stupid Award" goes to beauty pageant contestants in the good old USofA.

Most Beauty Queens Believe Evolution Shouldn’t Be Taught In Schools
By Robin M.

Thank goodness the Miss America pageant still offers scholarships to their winners, because it looks like a lot of the women participating could use them. When asked whether evolution should be taught in schools, most replied no, or that it should be only if Creationism (or “creationatism,” according to Miss Hawaii) is taught to.

Then there’s Miss Indiana. “I don’t know. I think we should leave that up to the government. I’m not sure. I think a lot of people would have an issue if evolution was taught in school. I think we should just leave that out of the equation.”

In case you were wondering, one of the few contestants who believed in evolution won the crown

Reminds me of the nutter that originally won California last year or recently that was openly supported Prop 8. Excuse me, but who does she think is making her dresses and doing her hair? :p

Exactly. And the religious classes belong in private schools. Not public/tax supported schools.

well I had religious ed classes (and I'm athiest) and I don't see anything wrong with it per se so long as Christianity isn't the only religion they cover...ours covered all religions and it wasn't a case of "this is the one that's true" it was just "this is what the people who follow this religion believe" which is much better imo

See, I think that would be okay, but Christians in this country would never allow that.

That's not a proper religious ed class if it only covers one religion, it's more of a bible study class. which has no place in school

Well, our public schools don't have religious classes, they are only taught in private schools which for the most are are Christian. That is why I am glad I went to public school. But they are trying to force public schools to "teach" Christianity.
