Let me get this straight, Muslim religious states are evil, but Evangelical Christian states are just fine?
I don't want to rain on your parade, but God does not care who is president of the USA.

Morning Mix: Are You There God? It's Me, A Presidential Candidate!
posted by: Robin Marty

Once upon a time, professing a desire to use your influence as the President to try and place your religious worldview was considered a no no (or did history just make up everyone freaking out over JFK being Catholic?).

Now, it's a requirement. At least, if you want to be a Republican presidential candidate.

This weekend GOP White House Wannabees are lining up to profess their faith at the Faith and Freedom Conference hosted by religious conservative Ralph Reed.

Suddenly Tim Pawlenty, who's evangelical sect is actually considered fairly moderate as things go, has gone to embracing a biblical worldview. "We need to be a nation that turns toward God, not away from God,” he said.
Then he said outlawing abortion is "one of the nation’s top priorities." Apparently he missed the memo.

But Pawlenty wasn't the only Minnesotan hitting up God. Michele Bachmann was there as well, and according to Hotline was "pitch perfect."

On abortion rights, Bachmann drew from a favorite Tea Party talking point, crediting the founding fathers for "understanding the value of human life" in penning the Declaration of Independence.

"They wrote that 'Among those rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness... life; that's the first right," she said. "And the incredible thing about this statement is inalienable rights are ones that man cannot give ... and not only are inalienable rights ones that man cannot give that right, nor can government give it, the opposite is that government is without authority or power to take that right away."

Even Jon Huntsman got in on the act, trying to explain to the religious right that even if he is Mormon, his is just like them.

Mitt Romney? He didn't even mention God, just the economy.

Also at the event was Donald Trump, showing off his church confirmation pictures. Does that mean he wants to run again?

It's utterly ridiculous that it should be a requirement. You choose your religion or choose not to have one, it should not and does not affect your ability to do a job. Religion and politics should never mix!
