Jan. 19th, 2010 09:08 pm"Liberal" Massachusetts has elected a Republican Senator.
Apparently all that love shown for Ted Kennedy when he died was a bunch of bull.
Washington DC might just as well close down now. NOTHING will get done now. The Republicans have broken the "stranglehold" the Democrats have had for a whole year.
People will be happy now that Republicans are now swinging back to power. The Right will be emboldened and the Moral Upper Crust will beging pushing their weight around.
I will be the first to say the Democrats blew their opportunity to do something. However, everybody has to admit the Republicans just sat back and pouted and didn't come out to the play ground.
Thanks Massachusetts.................
You did Ted Kennedy proud.

Date: 2010-01-20 02:50 pm (UTC)It does disgust me, though-- how the democrats have used the last few months to spike the ball. Do they really expect Republicans to "play nice" (even in Republican terms) after Democrats have made it exceedingly clear that they're ready to leave their opponents out in the cold rather than renegotiate? And now that the poster child for cottage cheese-- now in extra plain-- has lost the race, we're supposed to boo-hoo after tolerating our side's atrocious behaviour?

Date: 2010-01-21 03:50 am (UTC)1. Yes, they did.
2. The love for Ted Kennedy is still there, but he was not running for office in this case.
3. Legislation can still be passed, but now there will need to be more compromise and less "do it our way or else"...which is good.
4. Not sure what this has to do with the "moral upper crust". The main issue here looks more economic to me...
5. The Republicans came to the playground, but the Democrats kept the gate locked and said "We won't allow anyone to come in here and play unless you agree with everything we do". The Democrats did all this to themselves by going on a "We are in the Majority" Power Trip and not listening to the people.
Just wait for November!!
