Job Front Update.......
Jan. 13th, 2010 09:31 pmWell, we had our little meeting at work this past morning.
There was good news and bad news.
The good news, right now I still have my position. :)
The bad news, in October, I am more than likely losing it. My station is getting moved, in April, to a much smaller station. We currently have 24 beds. We will be permenantly moving to an 11 bed unit. The people that are there now run the station with just two nurses on the night shift. Although I can't possibly see my nurses running with that. They are too use to running with just 4 patients a piece. With 11 or 12 patients they are usually running with 3 nurses.
At this time they are only looking at redoing the nurses positions throughout the two hospitals. Then in October they will relook at everybodies positions. They also claimed that they will be looking at the work loads throughout the system and there should be more aides being hired including the night shift.
I am going to have to keep my eyes open for when these supposed positions start to get posted. If I wait until October to lose my position, I will probably get stuck with something less then desirable.
When my station moves to the other unit we will be losing 10 nurses.
This year is going to suck.
Sorry if this feels disjointed. I just wanted to get this down before rushing off to work tonight.

If I havn't told you, you are an AWESOME PCA. Seriously! Your self motivated, do your job without being told what to do, and are pretty damn friendly. Great to see you the other night.
