I just got an email from a friend at work. She told me she got an EA, excused absence, Friday night. That was the same night I was wanting one so I could stay at the party I went to. To the best of my knowledge EAs are suppose to be given out to union employees by seniority, and to the best of my knowledge I have seniority over everyone that works the night shift. I know I have seniority over my friend that did get one.
Needless to say I will be going to the union about this to file a complaint about the hospital not following procedures. This one I will not let go. I have been waiting for something like to to happen for a long time, and I will not let them get away with it.
This is probably enough to make me offer my name to be on our union bargaining committee for contract negotiations this Fall.
