A Day In The Life.....

Apparently Minnesotans are whimping out.
We have another blizzard coming in today, and...

1. Schools were cancelled today.

2. The highway department is planning to close down Interstate 90 because they already have the message signs sitting along the highway on the drive home.

3. Gas stations are price gouging. This morning I saw prices any where from $2.99 up to $3.29.

Same here when I was a kid.
We rarely would have school cancelled because of weather. :o

We had a major wind storm hit the area. Winds at the observatory clocked over 60 MPH, dust count over 400,000 PPM, they closed Highway 54 originally from the TX border for about 100 miles N, then from the county border heading north because of collisions, and we have a wildfire of 100 estimated acres just above the tunnel below Cloudcroft.

It was blowing really hard when I left work, so I had dinner down in Alamo and went and saw Mickey 17. Really liked it. When the movie let out at 8:30, the sky was clear and the wind was down to fairly light.

The fire in Highrolls is 25% contained and people are allowed back in the area.  No injuries, the only building destruction is one outbuilding, so we've been lucky thus far, but they're expecting increased winds this weekend.

That price per gallon for gas sounds pretty good. Ours is about $3.30 a gallon.
Maybe you can not go to work! LOL!!!!

The highways were fine when I went to work last night. :)

The $2.99 gas was up to $3.09. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I was in the Twin Cities Saturday I saw a couple of stations that had gas at $2.89. :o

Sounds like it would be like that here... if it were snowing. However, today is sunny and due to reach 18°C (65°F).

Your fuel is cheap, we pay around £5+ per imperial gallon which I think is around $7+ :/

Yeah, we like to complain about gas prices over here, but it doesn't come close to what it's like over there. :o
