First I apologize for falling behind here...

Secondly, Thursday was really a good day.
I drove up to Minneapolis to see the musical "Into the Woods" at the Guthrie Theater, with my friend Neil, mrdreamjeans.
The show is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you happen to be in Minneapolis over the next few weeks, and can get tickets, go see it. :)
The extra excitement of the day was on the drive home, I saw a vehicle on the side of the road in flames. :o :o :o

Thirdly, Friday SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I decided to drive back up to Minneapolis to go to the Pride Festival in Loring Park.
I almost always am working on Pride weekend and this time I am actually off and thought I would go up one night.
Got to the outskirts of Minneapolis and I started to smell smoke/something hot like. I thought it was just the pickup in front of me.
Then when I got into downtown Minneapolis, I noticed the Battery light was on on my dashboard. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stupidly, I pulled into the parking lot, found a place to park, and turned off my vehicle, and... My vehicle was DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Called AAA right away, and then spend the next 2 1/2 hours trying to get my vehicle out of the ramp so I could get it towed home. After several jumps, I was just able to get it down and out of the ramp and it died again. But at least it was out of the ramp and could get put up on the tow truck.

I HATE vehicles.

Tow guy said it was the alternator.
Of course my mechanic is closed until Monday.
The whole weekend off and no way to get any where.
Here's hoping they can fix it on Monday, because I work Monday night. :o :o :o
And here's hoping it doesn't cost a fortune. :o :o :o

No public transport where you are, I presume?

The region is also hostile to pedestrians. When visiting customers there that were within walking distance of my hotel, I found that the sidewalk would frequently disappear. Highways with no crosswalks or busy underpasses or bridges with only space for roadways divide the area into tiny chunks where people can move by foot.

Minnesota is actually reversing that thought.
Bicycle lanes are taking over cities.
The bridges in Rochester all, to the best of my knowledge, have sidewalks on them.

I could call a cab from Rochester, but I can't imagine what that would cost. :o
