A Day In The Life.......

I got to work last night and I was being floated off my station to another station, and why you ask?

The other station needed a White male aide to sit with their violent patient.
This patient some time earlier in the day had hit an employee hard enough to send them to the ER.
Apparently he's not only a drug addict he's also a racist and so apparently only White guys get to put up with his shit, for lack of a better word.
Needless to say, for the foreseeable future I am probably going to be stuck taking care of this ass.

There is a very good chance that Jon is going to be sick for the rest of the weekend.
Things won't be better when I go back to work Tuesday night, but I just can't take sitting with a violent patient again for the weekend.
I DO NOT GET PAID ENOUGH TO DO THIS JOB ANY MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then to really top off my morning, I stopped at the grocery store and picked up $150 worth of groceries.
I went up to pay for them and they did not have a single check out person working any of the registers.
I was expected to do my own checking out.
I asked a kid standing there folding sales fliers if there wasn't anybody working the registers and he just said No, you'll have to do it yourself.
Umm... NO. I am NOT an employee. If the store wants to give me an employee discount then I will be glad to do it myself.
So I was good and put all my groceries back on the shelves, and then as I was taking my cart back to the door, suddenly there was somebody working a register. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By that point in time I was so pissed that I just left the store.

This happened one other time, but I had a smaller cart of food that time.
I was so annoyed that I just left the cart in one of the check out aisle and walked away. ARGH...

If you need to be a security guard too, you should be getting a second paycheque on top of your first one!

I wish I had a paycheck for all the roles I play at night.
Aide, security, housekeeping, maintenance, etc etc etc...

Sweetie, why don't you just do your own checkout? It's been around for a long time, not a big deal and then you can get out of the store quicker. Granted, you had a large order but sometimes shrugging it off and doing it yourself is not such a big deal...is it?

I'm not a big fan of doing all that bagging, but I guess if I did, I could double bag and groceries would be safer. :o
