A Day In The Life.......
Mar. 22nd, 2022 06:42 pmWell, today was the day I went to see the doctor about my cysts.
Doctor is a newbie the clinic. She said she came from Boston. Not sure she is originally from there either because there was no accent at all. She was very friendly. :)
We discussed options and decided to drain the infected cyst and then at the end of the week have them both removed.
Funny how things never seem to happen as planned.
Went up to the appointment desk to make appointment for later in the week.
Nope, they have a 10:40 appointment this morning or this afternoon. I said, but they won't do the infected one yet.
No, that's how they do it.
Okay... The morning one will not work for me, what time in the afternoon?
3:10pm
Okay... I guess I will go home and get a short nap.
So I maybe got 3 hours.
Drove back into Rochester and checked in for my appointment. Opened my Nook and maybe read a page and a half and I was called back.
Nurse asked what I was here for and I said to get rid of two cysts.
Well, they won't do the infected one.
I tried to tell the appointment desk that.
UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doctor came in with her resident and we discussed things. She said they could look at the infected one, but they couldn't remove it for at least 6 months, but they could remove the other one. So they got the ultrasound machine and looked at the infected cyst and sure enough there was still some crap in there. The first doctor I saw didn't want to dig too deep just because it was close to the carotid artery. So the current doctor said they clean out the infected one some more and then they would remove the other cyst.
So they cleaned out the infected one and put a little gauze strip in the incision and dressing over the top of that. Then they went to town on the other cyst. Cut and Pull, Cut and Pull, Cut and Pull. You get the idea.
They put a couple of stitches inside that wound and some steri strip tapes on top of the incision and then a dressing over that. The dressing and gauze strip on the infected cyst need to stay in place for 48 hours. Aka, no shower for me for a couple of days. :o
Oh and the first doc almost ordered antibiotics. I think it's Bactrim. Nice big pills. lol...
Now I just wanna go to bed. So tempted to call in sick tonight. UGH...

Date: 2022-03-25 04:11 am (UTC)Infected one is still draining bloody, yucky drainage. I put a new dressing back on it right away.
The other one is on the back of my neck, so it's harder to see, but I think it seems okay.
