Japan Has a Word for ‘Working to Death’
A young woman’s suicide has sparked a backlash against the country’s labor conditions. But death by overwork is so common there’s even a word for it: karoshi.

It drives me crazy here when people are working over time and then whine about how tired they are. Not my fault. Nobody is forcing you to work OT. It's all voluntary. :o

Date: 2017-02-05 04:07 pm (UTC)No it is clear the workers are pressured into that by their employers and society. Voluntary or not in the Japanese culture saving face is everything. Like the article said if they don't stay at a job at least two years they are considered unreliable. That is held against them by employers who harass them. So really you're going to blame the fucking victim?
Btw some people HAVE to work overtime to make ends meet! You don't know their life.
