the verse she seems nor to have read
they try to trap Jesus about paying taxes
he picks up a coin and asks whose image is on the coin
they say - Caesar's
he says well, give it back to Caesar
give Caesar what is his and to God what is his

meaning things of the state belong to the state - things of god belong to god -they don't clash

It drives me insane the number of people that forget we are suppose to have a seperation of Church and State.
I say suppose to, because I think we are becoming more and more of a religious State. :(

it seems to be in our "civic genes"
although our late 18th century founding fathers were men of the enlightenment and had a strong belief that there should not be an established religion
those 17th century roots have establishment certainties -
the Massachusetts Bay Colony was notorious
"live Puritan or die"
of course there were always exceptions
Roger Williams went off to found Rhode Island which tried to be tolerant and Pennsylvania tried

but in Maryland which was indeed anti-establishment after the "Glorious Revolution" fearing to lose their charter they said _ "Yes, Yes were loyal" and established the Anglican Church

and there in ends out history lesson for today LOL

the guys who met in Philly were basically ok

it was the religious revival in the 19th century that sowed the seeds of the current religious fervor

particularly in the south and mid west the churches became the center of life for poor

now people who are fearful of cultural change cling to dogmatic church teachings - it gives them feelings of safety and conrol

If she fetches up in jail that ain't gonna happen if your rules are the same as ours!

Not sure if that would keep her from running for another office or not.

I don't know if being held for contempt is the same as being convicted of a crime. :(

No, but she may well fetch up being fully jailed if she still refuses to comply with the law.

Good! But on the other hand, that's not going to bother her. She's most likely sitting there, gloating and patting herself on the back for being a "martyr". That stupid bitch.

Oh most definitely. UGH...
She will be gaining fans right and left now. :o

If I was the judge, I would have thrown the son into jail too. UGH...

I was so relieved to hear on the news this am that they jailed her, jeez. Why does she think she can take the law into her own hands. I hope no one bails her out.

Because she's a "Good" Christian. UGH........
Being held for contempt, I wonder if they can get bailed out? :o

I hope she can't be bailed out, I am sure she has some crazy supporters who think she is a hero. UGH!

It is about time. Church and State should be separate although it seems many in the USA seem to think not.
