Book Reading.....
Aug. 27th, 2013 09:17 pmJust finished book No. 23.
I read Further Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin. It's the third book in the City series.
I liked this book better then book 2. It's got a whole mystery running through most of the book. It centers around Dede Day who ran away with her twins and her lesbian lover. They ended up in Jonestown, Guyana. It's the home of a whack job prophet who ended up commiting mass suicide with his flock of followers. True story for all you youngsters reading this.
Minneapolis is also briefly visited. Including the Gay 90s bar that actually does exist. It's the BIG gay bar that fills up with all the straight suburbanites that come in to see the drag shows. :p
One of the funny things about the book is a Hollywood star who's gay but closeted and get's mentions as ____ ___. lol... My deduction is that it's suppose to be Rock Hudson. I could be wrong, but that's who I see it as.
Grade: A-
