Okay, so obviously, I am cursed.

I got in my car to come to work tonight and as I drove away I noticed the Service Engine Soon light was on. REALLY???

Well, I guess that's better than the Caddy. That service light came on before I could even get it home the first day I bought it. The Impala waited a whole week and a half. :o

Car came with a "limited warranty". So wonder how limited.
I am thinking I might stop in to my mechanic and see if they can hook it up to see what the problem is and then decide if I am going to drive it back over to the dealership.

Needless to say, I am NOT a happy camper at this moment.

Have you ascertained how long the warranty runs for?

It's suppose to be 30 days or 1000 miles. It's only been about a week and a half and about 300+ miles I think. :o

Gas cap on right? A loose on can set off the light.

A mechanic with the proper equipment will hook the car up to a computer and a code will tell him what caused the light to go off. Hopefully, it is something minor. I'm gonna guess some sort of sensor....

Well, this morning the light didn't come on. I stopped and talked with my mechanic and he said that the problem must have resolved as long as the light didn't come back on. I think I vaguely remember that happening with my old Impala once or twice.
The gas cap was his suggestion too. Not sure. It has been about a week since I last got gas. But who knows. :p
Hopefully it behaves now.

UGH!!

Your friend who is a mechanic should have a diagnostic machine that he can plug into your cars "brain" and within minutes know exactly what is wrong with it. That is the best route to take. Its an easy way to figure out issues that the car has and only take a couple minutes.

Hopefully it will be something easy like am 02 censor and not a cracked head or something like that. Saima had an impala a few years ago and loved it. Hopefully this is just a simple glitch and you will love your car too!!

HUGS

Well, this morning the stupid light didn't come on either when I left work or after getting some gas. So I stopped and talked with my mechanic and he said the problem that brought it on must have resolved. He said possibly the gas cap wasn't tight. That has been a problem I occured in the past. Although this time it had been about a week since I bought gas. :p
Cars, I hate 'em. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So for now I guess I am okay. :p

I'd have the car checked out anyways-if your friend has the equipment, ask him to do it for you. Couldnt hurt to have the info.

Exactly. 12 miles is a long way to walk to work. Especially in a Minnesota Winter. :o

Oh hell. In a Minnesota winter, it might as well be 12,000 miles. :P

Well, that morning after work the light wasn't on. And that evening I came back into town to do some shopping and the light didn't come one. Then when I went to come in to work Saturday night, the light came on.
So I think I am going to drive over to the dealership in the morning after work, and just have them look at it before my limited warrenty runs out.
