The problem is that it's their POTUS who committed it, which taints their entire brand. So they can't admit to it. It's the same problem that hard-core MAGAs can't admit to his sins, it would shake their core beliefs and require an entire re-evaluation of themselves, and they can't handle that.
To say nothing of the fact that it seems to be the one time Trickle Down works. Every time you turn around you hear about another Repub and/or MAGA that is charged and/or convicted of Pedophelia. :o :o :o
This is quite true! It's kind of funny how many R's are into the immoral stuff that they constantly rail against. Very rare - but not entirely unheard of - that Dems do stuff.
