A Day In The Life.....

I is sicky poo. :(
Part way through work Sunday night I started feel chilly.
I came home and popped some Tylenol.
Watched some tv and worked a little on the computer.
Then I popped some Ibuprofen and a Trazedone and went to bed.
I woke up at one point with shaking chills and made a trip to the bathroom.
TMI? Being a guy and trying to pee with shaking chills is not easy. :p
I crawled back into bed and got a little more sleep.
When I woke up again, I was still chilly, but foreced myself to get dressed and go in search of a new thermometer and a Covid test.
Thankfully the drug store was still open and had both.
Came home and checked my temp and it was 100.4F/38C.
I've seen worse at work, but it was enough.
Then I went through the directions of the Covid/Flu test.
I dished up some supper and at first it wasn't going well, but I left it sit there and periodically would take a couple of bite fulls and eventually at it all.
I yacked with a friend on the phone for awhile and then I popped some more Tylenol and took a nap.
Ended up sleeping about 4 hours.
Maybe feeling a little better, but still feeling kind of chilly.

If you have a clean, dry towel, maybe put that on the bed and sleep on top of it? If you get sweats despite feeling chilled, that will keep you dry and warmer.

Date: 2025-05-06 02:44 pm (UTC)Good idea.
So far nothing really sweating wise except when I ran uptown to get the thermometer and Covid test.
But that was probably because with the shaking chills, I put a jacket on and it was fairly warm outside. lol...
Right now it's kind of feeling chilly, but as soon as I stand up to do anything the shaking starts in. Ugh...
Almost time to pop some more Tylenol and try for some bed sleep.

Date: 2025-05-06 04:55 pm (UTC)BTW, they now make combo covid/flu test kits! Dunno how reliable they are, classic disclaimer that a negative test doesn't mean you're not infected. And the FlowFlex Plus kits they're selling at my Albertsons for $15 a pop only have one test, not two like most covid test kits are.

Date: 2025-05-07 07:22 am (UTC)And it only had one test in it. :(
A friend at work said they are generally concidered 80% accurate.
So if it really was all negative, I must have one nasty cold. :o

Date: 2025-05-08 08:17 am (UTC)Temp was down to 97.9F, but then Wednesday night it was back up to 101.2F. :(

Date: 2025-05-08 06:42 pm (UTC)Yeah, I'm honestly not a fan of taking Tylenol or other fever reducers unless I'm absolutely miserable and significantly over 101. This is an on-going dispute between me and Russet, but I'm of the opinion of let the cold burn itself out faster and that suppressing it just prolongs it. But honestly, Jon, it really sounds to me like you have the flu or something else.

Date: 2025-05-10 02:07 am (UTC)Last night I fell asleep for a little while here on the couch and when I woke up I was a sweaty mess. :o
Checked my temp and it was down to 95.7F
I called in sick T,W,T,F, and now I have the weekend off.
I am going to have to break down and go see somebody on Monday if I'm not feeling better.

Date: 2025-05-10 02:31 am (UTC)You definitely need to see a doc or urgent care if you're not better Monday! Our urgent care here has an instant swab that tests for covid and the flu in one go, I don't know how common that is across the country,

Date: 2025-05-07 07:26 am (UTC)Entering day three of symptoms.
I am sit here feeling a little chilled, and then when I stand up, the shaking chills try to hit me. :o
The lowest my temp has been is 99.7F, which in reality I supposed could be considered "normal".

I read that Boise city council had voted to make the Pride Flag and official city flag.
I was shocked, but thrilled. :)
