A Day In The Life.....

Tonight I went to the movies.
I saw the new movie, "The Beekeeper".
First I have to say, I am not really a big Action/Thriller kind of guy, and I am not really a fan of Jason Statham.
So why did I go to this movie you ask?
Not really sure. I saw the previews and it just kind of looked good.
Verdict?
It was GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you like action movies, I highly recommend "The Beekeeper".
I really don't wanna say too much for fear of giving away anything if you all decide to go see this movie.
Jason plays The Beekeeper, who is a gentle man who is tending bees on this lady's farm.
Through evilness, this lady dies.
And it sets off The Beekeeper and he goes after the evilness.
He leaves a massive trail of bodies behind on his way to the top of the evilness.
Meanwhile, the lady's daughter just happens to be an FBI agent and she leads the search to stop The Beekeeper, even if what he is doing is for the good.
Jeremy Irons has a role in the movie and all I can say is, I LOVE HIS VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would give it an A.

The first movie I saw him in was The Professional, where he's a professional car driver for hire. And then things get nasty. Quite liked it. The second in the series was okay, the third was absolutely ridiculous with utterly impossible car stunts: he figured out there was a bomb on the bottom of his car, and was able to jump his car up some sort of ramp that sent it into a spiral, which precisely intersected a crane with a ball and hook that swept the bomb off the car!

I think that was the last Professional movie that he did. I believe they relaunched the series, but only got one out. He has a lot of class as an action guy, but I didn't care for The Expendables. Saw the first one, and that was enough for me. "They" said the series got better, but I don't like massive violence in movies if the story isn't really, really good.

I think this might be the first movie I have ever watched with him in it. :o
Lots of violence, but i think it goes with the story.

We started watching Reacher on Prime earlier this week, only watched the first two or three episodes.  Russet wanted some beefcake, and BOY! does he deliver!  I told her that I didn't know if I'd care for the violence, as it is extremely violent, the fights are very short because he dishes out the violence in extreme and it's over fast.  But most important - it's integral to the plot.  It's not gratuitous.  The story is quite good, and the quipping is excellent.  AND he's not quipping/being a wiseass during the fight!  Okay, he is being a bit of a wiseass before the fight, but it's also a warning to the idiots about to attack him that they really shouldn't be doing this.  Anyway, recommended.  I never saw any of the Tom Cruise Jack Reacher movies out of lack of interest, but heard the TV series was much better, and it is really, REALLY good.

Kind of sounds like The Beekeeper.
He's very quiet, just talks when talks when he has to.
Very little if any smartassing on his part.
The bad guys are the ones that mouth off.

I just watched the trailer for it.  WOW.  Looks excellent!  Kinda reminds me of that Ben Afleck movie where he plays an 'accountant'.

I went and saw Beekeeper Saturday night, quite enjoyed it.  Excellent action movie.  Will watch it again when it streams so I can subtitle it and catch a lot of dialog that I missed.  I also had to take a pee break just before the final act began, I guess they brought in all of the Beekeepers to stop Statham?  Not that it did them any good.  I'll find out.

I think the only actual Beekeeper they brought in to try and stop him was the CRAZY lady at the gas station.

I am tempted to go back and see it again. Not sure if that will happen or not. lol...

I don't know if you saw the new Godzilla movie, I'm seeing it tonight as Thursday is its last night here.  They're doing a re-release like next week in black and white!  It won't show here, but it sounds pretty cool.  I don't think I'll see it again in the theater, I'll wait for the streaming release and might buy it on DVD.

I went to see the concert movie, Queen Rock Montreal, instead of The Beekeeper again.
I'm trying to remember if that Godzilla movie was here. I assume it must have been.
I see there is a new one coming out some time with Godzilla vs Kong. :o

I don't mind the original with Fay Wray, but beyond that, I will pass as well.

I'll have to keep an eye out for this when it gets onto the streaming services (actual theaters are not in my mobility range without risking long crowded subway rides).
