You guys are amazing and apparently quite powerful. :)
I can't thank you guys enough for all the prayers, good thoughts, gugu, and other things.
Dad is home now. He came home this evening just around supper time.
I went in this morning to visit him. He had a good night and sitting up in the chair when I got there.
They were planning to schedule a couple of cardiac exams, and ECHO Cardiogram, and some kind of tilt table test. They ended up cancelling the tilt table one. I can't remember what that was suppose to be looking for. I stuck around long enough to see the doctors on their morning rounds and then headed home to try and get a nap in before coming back into the hospital before the end of visiting hours. The doctors said if the ECHO went well, there was a good chance dad could go home in the evening. Fingers were crossed.
Before going to see dad in the morning, I stopped up on my station to talk to manager about signing up for FMLA to cover taking time off for this. If it's FMLA it's not considered an occurrence and doesn't count against you. FMLA is Family Medical Leave Act, which is a Federal law that protects people that need to take time off from work in order to take care of their own medical needs of those of certain family members. the STUPID thing is your employer is the one that decides if you are granted FMLA. That is so wrong. :o So anyway I am waiting to hear if they will grant it.
Well, I went home and took Maggie out to do her duty and then headed for bed. I barely fell asleep and the phone rang. I heard it say the caller was the Mayo Clinic, so I jumped out of bed but they must have hung up before I could get there. Back to bed, and an hour later the phone rang again Wash Rinse and Repeat. UGH... So I brought the phone with me to bed. Eventually I think I maybe got a couple of hours of sleep. I got dressed and took Maggie out again. It was just starting to sprinkle so I grabbed an umbrella. We barely got across the street to the cemetery and it started pouring. We stood under a big tree for awhile and I finally said, come on Maggie, lets go back home.
I got up to the hospital and it was sprinkling and shortly after getting up to dad's room it got quite stormy. :o
Anyway, I got up to his room and they had him in Modified Droplet Isolation because they were checking him for the Corona, which every patient gets checked for. I stood at the door and a nurse came over and I asked her how strict they were with visitors and the isolation, because technically visitors are suppose to gown and mask and the whole thing. She said not to worry I didn't need to do anything. Okay...
Dad was laying in bed napping. I am guessing tired from the ECHO test. We chatted and then his supper showed up. The person that brought in his meal tray didn't use isolation techniques. :o So he ate, and we waited to hear about the test. All dad had to do was need to use the urinal and the PA/physician assistant came in to discuss the ECHO. GREAT NEWS... The heart is pumping normally and the valves look fine, so no evidence of a heart attack. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She discussed his meds and things, and I asked her if the Trauma team had said anything about his belly issues. She said that they had said the "Free Air" on the scan was probably and anomaly and were not worried about it, and that the polyp/mass in his colon was something that could be biopsied through a colonoscopy, but that was something to consider regarding dad's age. I lean against it.
So she left to get the paper work ready for dad's dismissal and we waited. Dad got a little over anxious and I had to kind of scold him to just stop and relax.
Eventually all the paper work was done and we were able to get out of there. Well, I went to go get my truck and meet dad downstairs. He was going to get a ride down in a wheelchair with escort. I got to the door and waited and waited and waited. It started pouring again, and I waited. I finally called up to the station, kind of worrying that dad got up on his own and fell down. The nurse said they were still waiting for the escort person. So I kept waiting. Thankfully the rain stopped, and then suddenly dad was there being pushed by one of the nurses. I thanked her very much and she said we didn't want you to have to keep waiting. Very nice of her.
So we are home now, and it's just after midnight. Dad is in bed sleeping and I am trying to get through emails, going to start LJland, and hopefully not sleep the night away so I can hopefully sleep tomorrow and go to work tomorrow night.

Again, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For all your care and support.
