A Day in the Life.........
Jul. 25th, 2018 09:53 amI went to the movies last night.
Tuesday is cheapy night at the theater so I did a double feature.
I saw "Ant Man and Wasp" again. The theater it was in was so full, I sat in the second row. Thank goodness they have recliner seats or it might not have been so great sitting that close. :o
After that I saw "Mamma Mia Here We Go Again" on their IMAX screen.
I had very mixed feelings about this movie.
I don't wanna say too much in case I should spoil it for anybody that plans to see it.
To start with, let's just say the big rumor is true. :( :( :(
One thing that drove me crazy was the actresses that played Young Donna and Sofie looked way too much alike. There were a couple of times I had to look at the co stars to figure out who was on the screen at the time. :o
Of the actors that played the young versions of the boyfriends of Donna, the guy that played young Bill was the best at acting and singing, imho. He was played by Josh Dylan. He also has the fewest credits listed in IMDB of the three actors playing the young versions. Must be a natural. :)
A big deal was made of Cher playing Donna's mother/Sophie's grandmother. She was totally wasted in the movie. Other then her beautiful version of "Fernando" and singing parts of the closing credits song, she really only had a little more then a handful of lines. :o
I will say one of the highlights had me bawling my eyes out. :o
There was one song that was song, that if it was an ABBA song, it had to be their least known song. I had never heard it before. :o
All in all, I would say the first Mamma Mia was much better then the sequel. Disappointed. :(
