Oct. 31st, 2017 10:33 amJust how stupid is Jon?????
Last night I went up to the Twin Cities to see Christine McVie and Lindsay Buckingham, from the group Fleetwood Mac, in concert. They got together and made an album.
The concert was at the University of Minnesota campus. I even paid for parking in advance. Then the more I thought about it, I really didn't want to deal with traffic in and out of the campus and in and out of St. Paul, so I decided I would park over by Fort Snelling and ride the light rail into town.
It went very smoothly and I had an hour to spare.
Now comes the STUPID part...
I got off the train at the campus. Started to walk away, and realized I had left my ticket back in my car. So I turned around quickly and jumped on a train going back the other way that was sitting there and headed back to my car.
Thanks to normal time schedule and a couple of delays by the time I got back and found the auditorium the opening act had been playing for 5-10 minutes already.
UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The opening act, Wilderado, was good.
The audience, imho, not so much. Since when did it become kosher to talk/holler at the acts on stage? Even when Christine and Lindsay came out on stage people continued to holler up at them.
And don't even get me started on the couple that was sitting behind me. They were singing along so loudly that I could hear them just as well as I could hear Christine and Lindsay who were using mics and amps. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I leaned over to the lady next to me and told her, I didn't realize I had paid $200 to listen to the audience sing. UGH............... At one point she actually turned around and asked if they could keep it down a little. I wasn't that brave, but it did help a little. :p
Only complaint I would have for the actual concert, was that Lindsay's guitar playing had a tendency to be a little too loud especially when Christine was singing. She doesn't have a big booming voice and he had a tendency to drown her out.
So, if I am going to be using the park and ride I REALLY need to remember my tickets from now on.
Oh, and it was just a wee bit COLD last night. Temp was right around 30F/-1C.
