Book Reading.......
Aug. 20th, 2016 10:16 amI FINALLY finished up another book.
I read "A General History of the Robberies & Murders of the Most Notorious Pirates" by Captain Charles Johnson.
It was an impulse buy in the gift shop at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney World. :p
It was a fairly dry read.
It was written back in the 1700s I believe, and that added to the toughness of the read. Spelling and language style didn't make for an easy flow.
He included a couple of female pirates, but it was a very sexist inclusion. He didn't really talk too much about their pirate lives. Instead he talked more about their homes lives leading up to their becoming pirates.
A handful of the pirates he talked about were really cut throat/blood thirsty. YIKES...
Most just kind of sounded like bad bullies. lol...
Also it took a long time to read because I haven't been sleeping well, so when I would go sit down on breaks at work to read, I would have a LOT of trouble keeping my eyes open to read. There were some nights in an hour period, I only managed to read something like 3 pages. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
