I want to thank every body for all the good thoughts you sent my way for my doctor's visit.
It was kind of so so visit unfortunately.
I got the extra tissue removed from the area the last cyst was taken out of on my right temple area. However, they wouldn't touch the one on the back of my neck. Well, they wouldn't remove it, they touched it a lot. lol... They told me it was too inflamed for anybody to remove it. They gave me three options. One, just let it be. Two, take oral antibiotics. Three steriod injections. At first I was decided to take the oral anitbiotics because I am not a big fan of steriods, but they assured me it was just a small local injection not the oral type of steriods that can affect your whole body. So I decided to go with the shot. The small injection turned out to be several small injections into an already sore cyst. Can you say OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They removed the tissue from the other area. Not really sure how much. Kind of "amusing" to watch the smoke and smell the burning tissue/blood when they used the clotterizing pen or whatever you want to call it. I laid there and listened to the docs talking to each other. Sometimes talking about the procedure, it's a teaching clinic afterall, other times chatting about things going on. Occasionally they would ask how I was doing. "Fine", as the blood trickled down the back of my head. :p
Afterward as the nurse was tring to wipe some of the blood out of my hair, that they had almost finished when one of the blood vessels decided to bleed. So they had to tie that one off before they could finished closing me up. Yippy...
With that they wished me luck and were off.
The nurse gave me my return to work prescription thingy with the 10 lb weight lifting restriction and no bending/pulling/pushing. Well, seeing as that is my job and my station requires you to be able to lift 35 lbs, needless to say I am off work for the next week, AGAIN.
I can see why they say no bending or heavy lifting. Now that the lidocaine has worn off, it HURTS. I can especailly feel the pressure when I lean over. Ouchie........
They said the scare was a little bigger then the previous one. At this rate, I will be looking like Frankenstein's monster pretty soon. lol...................
A big pain in the butt for me is the fact that every time they put me on restrictions I have to use up 16 hours of my vacation pot before short term disability kicks in.
I do apologize for that because I know I have better off then a lot of people in this country when it comes to insurance coverage.
So now I am off until next Tuesday. I guess I will have plenty of time to get the Christmas tree up after Thursday. Although we are not having Thanksgiving until Saturday. So now, do I wait until after that, or do I say, Screw it and put it up after Thursday? I am leaning to after Thursday.
Again, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THE KIND THOUGHTS........

Date: 2012-11-20 07:55 am (UTC)Glad to hear it was 50% successful!!
If they could stick needles in it like they did, why couldn't they remove it? Is there a greater challenge to remove an inflamed cyst than it is for an "unflamed" one??

Date: 2012-11-20 08:02 am (UTC)It's a bigger chance of infection from working on something that is inflamed.
The biggest thing with the tree would probably be carrying it up the stairs, but if I do it a couple of branches at a time weight wise should be okay. I suppose I could wait until Monday night for the technical 7 day waiting. Decisions, Decisions... :p

Date: 2012-11-20 01:54 pm (UTC)A couple of small skin cancer thingys were cut off my scalp a few years ago. They told me your head bleeds more than just about anyplace else - they were right. Just excising an area smaller than a postage stamp completely covered the bottom of one of those kidney-shaped vomit bowls to about 1/4 of an inch.
And I'm in a massage-table like contraption, face down, able to look at the bloody mess coming down off my head straight in front of me!
Let's hope we're both done with this kind of stuff....

Thank you. I too hope we are both done.
