Coal Company CEO Fires 156 Workers After Obama Re-Election

Among those who took a despairing view to the news of President Obama’s re-election, few were more despondent—and vindictive—than the CEO of Murray Energy, Robert Murray. The day after the election, the chairman and chief executive of the Ohio-based coal company fired 54 employees at American Coal and 102 at Utah American Energy, but not before reading a prayer and telling workers that “the takers outvoted the producers.” Murray faulted Obama’s “war on coal,” The Washington Post reported.

This is even more hilarious because unlike Chikfila, which we ate at once a month or so, she's never eaten at Applebees and I haven't been in about 8 years, since college.

I don't really understand these companies & CEOs --- other than just being mean & spiteful, what do they think their actions will accomplish? They can't change the election results, & I doubt Obama will end Obamacare ......

Sadly, I think they would rather see the whole country fail than to see anything he does succeed. :o

It could be he made his hiring projections based on subsidies Romney promised him. Obama is going to subsidise wind. And nobody get cross with me-- all energy in this country is subsidised. And aside from being dirty and non-renewable-- producing coal has a negative effect on the miners, their community, and families from the adverse effects. And with the rise of fracking, coal is losing relevance. So it would have needed Romney's promised subsidies and de-regulation.

More jobs will be created from Wind, because the turbines need to be made and maintained-- and down-stream it's the same damn electricity with a lower carbon foot-print.

Let the coal people bluster.
