And let the American Whining begin...

In Olympic gymnastics for the all around title each country is only allowed two members to move forward.
Because of this and some mistakes on her part, the current reigning World title holder is not able to compete for Olympic all around.
Yes, the best should compete, but would the NBC commentators be complaining so hard if the Eastern Bloc/Russian countries were still so powerful in gymnastics? They would have every spot in the all around competition.
Also would the commentators be whining so hard if the situation were reversed with these two gymnasts?

Personally I think this is a good reason that these little teenie boopers shouldn't be competing at this level.

Also, the US commentators for gymnastics are the WORST. They rank right up there with the figure skating commentators.
AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jordyn Wieber is the current World champion and was therefore thought to be a shoe in for the all around competition. But she fell behind two other US gymnasts so she didn't make the cut.

Man, those commentators were horrible, weren't they?
"The US is so incredibly dominant, I can't even put into words how unbelievably strong this team is, no one will top that score she just posted, blah blah blah bah--" SHUT UP!

But I agree that the top 24 should be the top 24, period. Even if only a few countries are represented, because the best over-all gymnast should be the actual best, you know?

Yeah, I guess I feel the same way about the top players should be there, but if the different sports want to run things differently, the commetators should take it up with them and stop whining on air. :p
I was watching something else last night and they were whining about how scoring was done or something like that. Blah...
