Apparently "prom" politics didn't make it to Minnesota.


Minnesota senator refuses to meet with anyone who supported opponent
When the Minnesota Nurses Association contacted state Sen. Scott Newman and requested a meeting, they got a nasty surprise. His office sent a note back saying that the senator will not meet with anyone who supported his opponent, either financially or otherwise. “After some careful checking, I discovered that the MNA had donated to Kimball’s campaign. Your association will be unable to schedule an appointment with Senator Newman,” the note said.

I wonder what a lot of politicians would do if some independant body would redraw all the districts and not set them up by party lines and they would have to represent or try to represent all the people.
Hmm, wonder how we could do that?

I think Iowa and a few other states do that already, and other states have planned bi-partisan committees to redraw their Legislative boundaries. It would be nice if it were nationwide, but some majorities are too "entrenched" to wanna....

Minnesota's Dems lost the congress just in time for redistricting. UGH... Not that it matters to me. We were shocked to have Dems win SE Minnesota a couple of years back. Now we are safely entrenched back in Repub territory. :(

I don't think our area will really change much, unless down the road Roch gets big enough to need to add more, and the North continues to shrink.
Although we almost lost a Congressional district and there was talk that it might have involved the Crazy lady's district. :p

Of course I think they were talking of combining her district with the very liberal Muslim. Can you imagine that race? SCARY................
