Dec. 30th, 2009 08:24 pmI am watching House Hunters on HGTV.
Some times I just want to reach through the tv screen and bitch slap these people back into reality.
The couple on this episode live in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. They want a vacation home for the weekends. What are their requirements for said vacation home?
It must be no more than $250,000. AND it must be no more than 20 minutes away from their current home. WYF???
They want a condo in the middle of downtown St. Louis as a "vacation" home. You have got to be kidding me.
They were standing in their home describing what they want. More room here, more room there. Blah, blah, blah... More room in a condo??? WTF???
Naturally, one of their big complaints when looking at these condos? It's so noisy. Well, DUH!!!!! You are in downtown St. Louis, not Hooterville. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you can afford a second/weekend home, that's only 20 minutes from your house, than you have way too much money. That or you have one hell of a good friend that is a banker.
Give Me a Break.........................

Date: 2009-12-31 03:02 pm (UTC)One of my Wishful Thinking if I Win the Big One, (after, of course building a Mental Health Unit and a Diabetes Research Unit for our hospital) is to get a loft in Kansas City. For those nights we head for shows and events downtown and aren't in good enough shape to drive home. It would include an art studio, which we would rent to someone we passionately believe in, sharing it with us during the week, maybe even a dance studio, but for evenings, it would be our getaway.
And then there's the island.. ;)
