Well, I had my dentist appointment this morning. :(

$80 for one xray and a brief exam to be told they can either patch it with a filling that may last for a while or it may last a month or two. That or they could put a crown on it. :(

The filling would cost about $200.
The crown would cost about $900.

Some choice a filling that may last, or it might not.
Or an expensive crown.

I didn't want to, but I am going with the crown. :(
I go back tomorrow for the first part.
She said, I don't have to pay until the second part, but I think I will pay tomorrow if they will let me so I can get my insurance process started. Mother Mayo isn't the speediest when it comes to paying us back.

What's my chance of getting paid back before Christmas?
My money is on slim to slimmer. :p

Putting your money where your mouth is?? I had a tooth that chipped & they put a filling on it. Nothing really extensive & it seems to be holding on pretty good.

hey! How have you been??!?!

Haven't talked to you in quite sometime...and quite frankly...I miss my friends here on LJ. I still have no internet and it's bugging the piss outta me. But you put it quite nicely in this blog "My money is on slim to slimmer" ...ain't that the truth.

I think perhaps you are right to go with the crown? It will probably be a better choice over the long run. I've been having a problem with on of my teeth as well and it has just recently gotten worse. I don't have any insurance though..so I don't know what I'm going to do.

anywho...I hope you are doing well...or at least as well as you can. ...I'm hangin in there.

hopefully I will be able to keep up with my journal more often and those of my friends in the near future.

Over all, I guess I am doing okay. Work sucks, so there is nothing new there. Although there is more talk of my nursing station closing permenantly. Yippy...
Are there any dental schools in your area where you could get work done for reduced rates?

wow...ya know I never would have even THOUGHT of going to a dental school...that's a good idea! I think I will have to look into that! :)

YIKES! ...what's going to happen if they close your nursing station? Are you going to be out of a job or will they relocate or re-asign something to you?

Yeah, we would get reassigned to another place. We would get put on a priority placement list and then we get a certain amount of time to pick something and if we don't we out the door. So here's hoping something decent is available if this really does happen. :o

Well, at least you had a chance to see the dentist. Guess that's something, right? You know exactly what it is and how much it will cost you to fix it.

Though, I must say that it does suck when you have to dish out so much for something that shouldn't cost half as much as that. And yeah, Mother Mayo is a bitch when it comes to paying us back. I've been meaning to have a stern speaking to with her!
