September 27th......
Oct. 18th, 2009 01:58 amI suppose I should get on with the story.
I woke up, showered and finished up a couple of postcards.
I got out to the buses and decided I would go back to Disney's Hollywood Studios for awhile this morning. I headed for the Tower of Terror and there was a 50 minute wait, so I broke down and got my first Fast Pass ticket. I went back and went through the Animation Building. They had a lot of things from thier next animated movie, The Princess and the Frog. It's a return to 2 dementional hand drawn animation. YAY..............
Call me a traditionalist. :p
At the end of the tour they had some meet and greet areas for some characters. Mickey was there in his Sorcerer costume and the guys from the movie Up. I got in line to get my picture with Mickey. :) As I was waiting this little, as in about 2 years old, boy went up to Mickey. Mickey kneeled down and they hugged. The little boy leaned back a little bit and looked up at Mickey and then just went back into a hug. It was so cute. Mickey just kneeled and hugged him and patted his head. A couple of times you could see one of the "handlers" motioning if Mickey needed to move things along and Mickey just waved them off and continued to hug the little boy. It was the sweetest thing ever.
From there I took the Great Movie ride again. Then headed down to Tower of Terror. Rode the ride and grabbed another Fast Pass ticket. lol... I stopped and watched the High School Musical 3 show. Then stopped and watched a couple of the wondering actor groups. I was wearing my, I Put Ketchup on My Ketchup tshirt, and was soon known as The Ketchup Guy. lol....... When I was watching one of the acts the guy playing the director handed me a "$100" bill and told me to go get a shave. lol............ I rode the Tower of Terror one last time and headed out to catch the bus back to the hotel so I could grab the bus over to the Magic Kingdom.
It poured for a few minutes while I waited for the bus. Thank goodness they have covered areas to duck under. Thankfully it stopped raining on the way to Magic Kingdom.
Just as I walked into the park there was a parade coming down Main Street. I quickly found and empty spot along the road and watched the parade. It was just a short one. I stopped into The Chapeau store and looked at the Mickey Ears hats. Then I chatted with one of the workers there for awhile. It started to rain a little bit again. I headed out and thankfully the stores are all connected so by the time I finally had to go outside, it had stopped raining.
I took the Jungle Cruise. The guides have a really funny script that they tell. It's VERY punny. I was laughing up a storm and she commented that I apparently love to laugh. :p Towards the end she started to ask where people were from. This one group said where they were from and she was like you just said that because you saw my name tag. She was like what part of town were you from and they told her and she just started to laugh. Apparently she lives just a street over from where this family was from. Too funny.
From there I went and did the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House, the Tiki Room and the "singing" birds, then I rode the River boat which I didn't get to ride last time I was down. Then I rode the Haunted Mansion again. Then I stopped and got a Fast Pass ticket for Splash Mountian. I noticed that the wait line was only 30 minutes. I figured by the time I got through that it would be time for my Fast Pass so I got in line. Got done and got back in the Fast Pass line and got right on. It was about 7 pm. About 5 minutes into the ride... It stopped. They started to play the recording to please be patient and stay in the logs for your safety. About 35 minutes later they announced that they were shutting the ride down to fix it and would be coming to get people off the ride. A few minutes later the people in the log behind ours got out of their's and said they weren't going to wait any longer. My thought was, Do you have any clue where you are going? The first door they went to was locked from the other side and so they headed in the other direction. About that time someone came to that door and we were finally gotten off the ride. I was okay with things until it started to get closer to 8 pm which was the time for the Fireworks show. As we walked out they were handing out Fast Pass tickets to come back and ride the ride. One little problem with that. This was the night of the 27th and the tickets they were handing out were for.... the 30th. I looked at that and handed it back to her and said thanks but I am leaving in the morning. She was just kind of like, Oh okay. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were some very angry people there though. Families that had divided up to do the ride and things like that.
I walked very quickly up to Cinderella's Castle to watch the fireworks. After that I went over to watch the Carousel of Progress. Afterward, I stopped and bought a turkey leg. They are delicious. From there I was going to ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority ride. It's like an elevated slow moving bunch of cars that drives you around Futureland. It was an Extra After Hours night and the guy standing there checking for guest room cards saw my turkey leg and told me I would have to wrap it up to ride the ride. After everything that happened on Splash Mountian, I really wasn't in the mood. So I just turned around without saying anything and walked away. As I passed him again, he repeated all I needed to do was wrap it up. I just kept walking.
I headed down to the Guest Relations building to complain about the lousy compinsation they offered for being stuck on a ride for 40 minutes. I explained the situation and she went into the back room to "talk" to someone. I love when people think they have the upper hand and can be "generous". She asked me if I would like to stay in the park for a couple of extra hours. I looked at her and said, I was planning to do that already and showed her my room card which is the pass for the extra hours. She was like, Oh you are a park guest. YES. Well, let me go talk to her again. She came back out and said she could offer me a Fast Pass ticket to use on any ride but because of the extra hours the park was busy. Did I plan on eating anything more in the park. I looked at my turkey leg and said, In the next hour and a half, I don't know. She said she could give me a ticket for a ice cream treat or a bottle of water. I told her I suppose I could take the ice cream. She ended up making the ticket for both the ice cream treat and a bottle of water. She also gave me a Fast Pass ticket to use. That was generous of her. Slight sarcasam there. :p
I took my Fast Pass and headed over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Then I went back and road the Pirates of the Caribbean again. From there I was going to head over to Fantasyland when I realized that I hadn't seen the Hall of Presidents yet. It was closed the last time I was here. It was like a 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour before the next show. I decided to wait. Who knows when I will be back. I called my friend Mr. Owl and chatted with him for awhile to pass the time. I watched the show. It was quite good. Not what I was expecting, but good. Then I headed for Fantasyland. It was almost 11pm. I thought the Park was open to 12 midnight, but someone said it was only open until 11pm. :( So I didn't try to ride any of the rides. So I slowly was making my way out and I found a stand selling Mickey ice cream bars. I used my ticket thingy for one and a bottle of water. Only touble iwth ice cream, it was so hot you had to almost swallow the ice cream so it wouldn't melt all over. :p
Sad to leave. The only time Disney isn't the happiest place on Earth. :(
I got down to the bus stop and it was PACKED. They even had to bus stops running for the Pop Century hotel. I decided to just stand and wait for the lines to go down. I was not in the mood for standing in line with screaming kids and grumpy parents. Some other people decided to do the same thing. So we sat around and shared Disney stories. :) Finally after a good hour the lines and pretty much gone down to nothing and we all got in line and got right on a bus. :)
I got back to my room and tried to finish packing
Off to bed because I have to get on the road tomorrow to drive up to my brother's place in Evans, Georgia. Just an 8 hour drive. :p
