I took the shuttle up to the Minneapolis airport the evening of the 22nd. I probably would have had time in the morning, but i just didn't want to take a chance on something happening and miss my flight.
So I tried to get some sleep at the airport. Heavy emphasis on the TRIED. :p Because I was so early they wouldn't take my luggage yet and so I had to spend the night on the "wrong" side of security. Not a lot to do other than pay to use the internet. :p
In the morning I finally got my luggage checked and through security. One little problem after that, No gate assignment for my flight yet. Found a locker for my carry on and walked around for awhile. Walked pasted another departure board and it had my plane leaving from C19. Walked a little further and the next board had my plane leaving from C18. lol... While walking around I saw the "famous" Rochester Miller Twins. Are they still playing professional basketball? Better yet, does anyone care? LOL... Finally got on my flight and we took off for Cincinnati. Apparently our plane was too small to pull up to the gate and hook up to the walkway. We deplaned down to the ground and had to walk up the stairs to the gate. Then it was off to another concourse to find my connecting plane.Got boarded on and off we went to Orlando. It was kind of fun because the plane had drop down video screens that showed the planes progress on it's way to Orlando. Not sure how I got so lucky, but ended up with an empty seat next to me. YAY for a little extra room.
We landed and I found the shuttle bus to Disney World and was shortly at my hotel. I got checked into my room, changed my shirt, and headed out the door to Epcot. I choose that park to start with because it had extra night time hours and was open until 12 midnight.
It was HOT and HUMID. Temps were in the 90's and I am guessing the humidity level probably was too.
I hit quite a few rides and wondered around through every thing. I had some lefse and a ham, apple, and cheese sandwich at the Norway pavilion. It was YUMMY...
I was REALLY starting to fade by the time the Illuminations: Reflections of Earth fireworks show started. I pushed myself onward wanting as much time as possible at the parks. I finally gave up and headed for the bus stop around 11:40 pm. I had to wait for several buses before getting on one. I got back to my room watched a little bit of TV to unwind some and then fell asleep. 5-6 hours of sleep and it will be time to get up and head for Disney's Hollywood Studios.
