I was a very bad boy last night. I called in to work sick and I wasn't. I just didn't want to go to work. lol... So actually I guess you could say I was sick. Sick of work. LOL!!! It's not like I was overly stressed out. I just had Dec 31 and Jan 1, 3, 4 off. Just needed the night off I guess. You have to have a mental health day every once in awhile.
I decided to make it a productive night and I started editing my video tapes of the Academy Awards shows. I want to make a best of tape. I did about 5 shows and then I checked the tape I did and it was completely blank. ARRGH!!! I had put some new cables on my VCR and apparently I forgot to hook something back up. So all that work for nothing. And of course it took me forever to figure out what I did wrong. I finally did so maybe this weekend I will tackle it again.
The other day I finished reading "God's Army". A book that was recommended by [livejournal.com profile] morzsa. I really liked the book and he said I should write the author and let him know. I was just going to do that and I realized I left his email address at home. So much for accomplishing that. I think my brian took another sick day off and forgot to tell me. lol... I really recommend this book to anyone looking for something to read.
Ah, some real big news in my life, lol. I started my New Year's diet. I started on the 3rd, and I am sick of it already. Why couldn't I just smoke and be skinny like so many other people. lol... So I will make updates here to let you know how it is going. Some of my other friends here are dieting too. So hopefully we can support each other.

Sometimes we all need a day off. Or two. Or a week.

Also, I don't think God's Army is that sad. Oh yes, Dalton's story is sad, but just think about a few things: he dies doing what he loves and finds the most important thing to do. He firmly believes in the work he is doing and he is happy.

Also in Mormon theology saints who die while serving a mission automatically continue serving as missionaries in the spirit world. And since that is the one thing Dalton always wanted to do his story has something bringing comfort.

I love the movie and the book as well. Great piece of Mormon independent cinema--actually the one film that made Mormon Independent Cinema.

Hi Jon! This diet thing has me wired, too. I've stocked up on apples, bananas, fish (watch out for Derek), yogurt, and a few other tasty things.

As for your day off, ditch the guilt. It's not like you make a habit of taking days off and it will do the rest of the staff good to work.
