Aug. 16th, 2007 01:28 amWell, I think things are back on track. I have slowed down on the water intake, and I still don't think the diuretic is doing anything for me. :p But the walking must be working. YAY......
Today's Weight: 240.2 lbs.
Total Lost: - 5.7 lbs.

Date: 2007-08-16 07:01 am (UTC)Some observations and Suggestions
Date: 2007-08-16 03:38 pm (UTC)Secondly: what is your behavior modification plan. Do you reward yourself for loosing weight. For example: Every time you loose a lb do you put 5 bucks in a jar, and then use the money to travel, or if you loose a lb, do you reward yourself by doing something you enjoy, and if you don't loose the weight to you "punish" yourself by not doing that activity.
Thirdly, and this is just a suggestion: have you thought of switching to a PURE VEGAN diet. There are differnt types of being a vegetarian. Vegan by far is the most strict, and the most selective. Here is why this may be a good idea for you, and I am making an assumption that your a big fan of your junk food: a vegan diet, is STRICTLY NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS what-so ever. NONE. This includes, and you are ready:
-No HONEY (comes from bees)
-NO CHOCHOLATE (Milk comes from cows-MOO)
-NO EGGS (again because of the CHICKEN)
-NO MILK (MOO)
-NO Ice-Cream (MOO)
-NO FISH, NO SEA-FOOD.
Here is what you can eat:
1) Salad with tons of vegetables. YUM
2) PEANUTS: GREAT SOURCE of PROTIEN
3) BEANS: the more you eat the more you toot!
4) Fruit: you are what you eat
5) Grains
6) Tofu with Pasta: YUM
Just suggestions: I'm concerned because you have been on this loose weight plan for over 2 years, and not getting anwwhere fast. Have you thought of keeping track of EXACTLY EVERY PIECE of food you put in your mouth for a whole week. I think you will be surprised at what you are all eating, and then are able to see where to make some cuts.

Date: 2007-08-17 07:46 am (UTC)I don't have a rewards system, right now it is just hoping BP comes down and don't have to start more meds.
As for Vegan or any level of vegetarian, there is now way I could ever go that far. I can easily give up the junnk for, but I love my meat too much to ever give it up. Seriously, I am a carnivore through and through. Sorry...
The whole weight lose thing has been going on more than 2 years, it has been a life long struggle. I was the fat kid people picked on. It hasn't always been a struggle that I have tackled. About 10 or so years ago, I got myself down to 175 lbs from about 260. I hovered around for awhile, but eventually got lazy and put it back on. Last year I did lose about 70 lbs. Unfortunately, I did put about 40 of those back on, but that does mean that I am still 30 pounds ahead.
Admitedly, I haven't been trying my hardest this year. Now adding to the equation of having to try and cut back on salt intake makes it just that much harder. But like I said, I hope that motivation of not wanting to take more meds will get me going.
Just trying to be helpful...
Date: 2007-08-18 12:55 am (UTC)I'm glad you keep a food diary. That is excellent.
Seriously, concider the meat thing, at least cut out red meat... cause it could be contributing to your high blood pressure. I know you love your red meat, and any Minnesotian would agree with you. However, there are some alternitives, and how you prepare it, ect. Basically what I am saying is don't go out to the back 40, shoot your cow, and have 9 new york strips in a row. Just trying to be helpful.
if all else fails: you could try this new diet...
The Crystal meth diet! LOL
