Disney or Bust...............

Well, I have taken the plunge.
Thursday morning I stopped at AAA and put a down payment on my hotel and park tickets for Disney World. This morning I ordered my airline tickets online.
It's all kind of scary. I guess I am really going to go.
I know I shouldn't be spending my money this way. Heaven knows I have other things to be spending it on, but in the small picture, this is kind of a once in a life time chance. At least for now.

It's just with bankruptcy hanging in the back ground, I think about that.

oh my gosh, not to scare you. but some twelve year old just died on a roller coaster there. they just the place down for the day. how sad is that? I mean, I'm sure the kid was doing something stupid/dangerous.. BUT STILL!

i feel bad for the boy's family but...

they only shut down the ride to inspect it for malfunction. there have been other accidents from rides at other Disney parks as well, but the autopsies show a previous condition that are the causes of death and not the rides themselves. Disney is very careful to post warnings and restrictions about health hazards but some people just choose to ignore them.

sorry about jumping in on your comment but i know how the media likes to make things seem...yes a death is horrible, but they need to report all the facts.

Another friend sent me a link to a news article about this and they talk about all the other deaths that have happened at Disney over the recent years. They make it sound like Disney is out to get people. Kind of doubt it.
There is an amusemtent park up here that just recently had an accident and I think there were two deaths on it. Sadly, it happens.
I look at it like I do all the terrorist stuff. If it happens to me, it was meant to happen. It's not in my hands.

no.. I totally agree. the media does seem to overdramaticize and blur the facts. I just found it sad because disneyworld is supposedly the happiest place on earth. I already had some doubts about that.. but the boy's death pretty much confirmed them.

sorry, I shouldn't be joking.. the point of this comment was to thank you for pointing out the inaccuracy of the news at times. I still like watching the news for the sole purpose of discovering how the other side of the US is doing. FA pretty far from here, but news does travel fast :]

My nurse manager was telling me about this before I left work yesterday. I can only assume the kid must have had some undiagnosed medical condition. That is definitely one of the rides I want to go on. I wonder how my ticker is doing?
Sorry, I should not joke about that. I feel terrible for that family.
