My little rose bush that was mowed over, has grown back enough to have to little flowers on it. :)

My potted geranium that had pretty much died off, now has flowers growing on it again. :)

My new to me vehicle went back to the dealership already on Thursday.
There is something wrong with the radio. I was hoping it was just a lose wire or something.
The radio plays and the cd player plays, but every couple of minutes, or more often, the sound cuts out for 2-4 seconds.
They said it needed a new radio. Of course to get an original radio to the vehicle means getting a "used" one because they don't make them any more. She brought along another guy with her, I can't remember his job title. They said it was going to be $500+ I thought about it for a minute and said, I have to have my radio, so I guess I have to say yes order the replacement. The guy then said something to the effect of because I had just bought it from them he would be willing to halves on it with me. Sounds like a good deal, but I can sadly imagine they will make up for that with labor costs.
UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night I went to see the new Disney movie, "The Haunted Mansion".
I really enjoyed it. :)
It's based on the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland, well really all the Parks. It kind of told some backstory to the ride experience.
For me, there was something weird in the opening credits. Have you noticed when a big celebrity/star has a guest part or non starring role in a movie during the opening credits they will get listed with an "And" or "Also" before their name. The actor Jared Leto has a role in the movie and he was listed in the opening credits as And Jared Leto. Really??? Sure he won an Oscar, but in the big picture of Hollywood stardom, imho, he's a nobody.

I came from home from the movie and got some something to eat and logged onto my computer and started to watch a movie on the boobtube, and then Nothing. The whole cable system went out. TV, internet, and phone.
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I rebooted their box and the router. Nothing.
I called their STUOID automated system and was told there was an outage in my area and they were working on it. How exactly were they working on it when it just happened? Unless of course they caused the outage. They then said it should be working again by 2:30 am. This was midnight. I threw in a dvd to watch, and promptly fell asleep. I had the alarm on my phone set for 2:30. Woke up and the system was still not working. Promptly fell back to sleep. Woke up around 4 am and the tv was working then. Never did finish watching the dvd. lol... And couldn't stay awake and finally woke up around 6 am.
Watched a little tv, took Maggie out, and now eating some breakfast.
After sleeping the night away, again, good luck to me to sleep today for work tonight. Blah.......

Professional IT guy here with more experiences in downed networks than you want to know, trust me. The first step in a network outage is figuring out what just happened. That is working on it. If they had just pushed a router update and the system went down, then someone made a mistake in the update and testing and they have to find a copy of the previous config and try to push that out. But since the network is down, it's not easy to push out! Or they may have had a back hoe eat a very specific fiber optic segment that was critical to the network. Figuring out where that segment was killed is not an easy task and takes work, and you have to know where that broken fiber is before you can send out a crew to pull it up and fix the break.

Trust me, they are working on it as fast as they can because their phones are lighting up the entire time it's down from both residential and business customers. AND this means FCC reports have to be written since they are a commercial communications carrier.

You'd be surprised how many businesses need 24/7 internet, Jon!  They sometimes have important file transfer processes running in the wee small hours. You got the call back because you called them, probably.  It logged your call.  Then when service was restored, the robocaller started calling them, one by one.  Takes a while.  Especially if they're only committing one robocaller to the list!

How wonderful for little 'Rosie'! And for your geranium too.

I could never drive a car without a radio either, it's a must. Nice they gave you a discount but jeez.

Hugs, Helen

ps good luck staying awake at work.
