A Day In The Life.......

Sunday was an interesting day...

So, some background...
I hadn't planned to, but I guess I have joined the No Mow May movement...
Does anybody have some sheep I could borrow?
Yeah, the grass/weeds have gotten that long. :o :o :o

Anyway, Sunday morning I decided to get the weed whacker out to lower some of the grass in the area that Maggie uses for her Go Out To Just Pee Quick area. So I lowered down about a 20x8 foot area.

Sunday afternoon, I decided to go see the new Live Action of The Little Mermaid.
I went to the 7:10pm IMAX showing.
Short little review?
I'll stick with the animated version.
I didn't think the actress playing Ariel had a very good voice.
Overall I wasn't impressed with any of the singing.
They totally skipped the Chef's song. :o :o :o
Melissa McCarthy tried to hard to channel Pat Carroll voice actress of the animated Ursula.
Lin-Manuel Miranda was involved with the live action Mermaid, including writing at least one new song for it. As I was listening to the song, my thought was this sounds like Hamilton, and then during the credits, sure enough Lin-Manuel Miranda was involved with the movie. It's not a bad thing, but just distracted for me.

Then I drove home and when I got home, the front yard and part of the side yard had been mowed.
Seriously?
So either a neighbor felt sorry for me or was embarrassed by my unmowed lawn. :o :o :o
Part of me is like, Thank You whoever did it.
Part of me is like, If I was seriously doing No Mow May, I would be pissed that somebody mowed my yard without asking.
And I noticed that they didn't try and mow the backyard that is VERY long. :o

Last year I tried no mow May accidentally. The contractor cousin started the deck on April 20th and his crap was all over the years until July. I couldn't mow it as it was too much. The cousin called a landscape person to come and do it. I find that the no mow just looks too ugly and creates havoc later. What I do is leave the leaves and flower hears on the garden until the last week in may t give teh critters some extra time.

Yeah, not sure how I will the backyard mowed. :o
It is way too long for my battery powered mower. :o

That's a shame it wasn't that good. I have heard some good reviews but the preview did not look that great to me.

Neighbors, jeez. Sometimes you have to wonder.

And tonight I realized they mowed over my mini rose bush.
Fingers are crossed extra tight that it will grow back. :o :o :o

Sadly/madly, it's not the first time a "helpful" neighbor has done that to the poor thing. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a shame it wasn't that good. I have heard some good reviews but the preview did not look that great to me.

I'd be thrilled if anyone mowed my lawn. I'm sad to hear your movie review. It is earning poor reviews. It's distressing that Bailey can't sing ... She's the lead in The Color Purple musical movie coming out!

Maybe she's good and it's just my taste, but I just didn't think she was really that good. :(

Saturday I went and saw the Super Mario Brothers movie, and loved it! Very entertaining movie - for what it was. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I had known more about the Mario/Nintendo 'Universe', but still had a lot of fun.

So weird to think that's the biggest movie of the year so far. :o
The bloom is definitely off of Marvel. :o

The Marvel franchise has a lot of problems.  They killed off Iron Man and Captain America, the Eternals wasn't the hit that they wanted it to be, and a lot of people were disappointed in the latest Thor movie.  They're doing the same thing that they did with Star Wars: they're producing too much product and oversaturating the market.  I was very disappointed in the second Guardians of the Galaxy movie and am a little trepeditious about the third, which we need to see soon, hopefully in Phoenix in two weeks in a good theater with good refreshments.

Not to mention all the shows on Disney+. :o

I really enjoyed Guardians 3. I hope you will too.

Hi John! If you see me at all on FB, you'll know why I have sorely neglected DW. As for mowing, it's overrated but kudos, big time, to the neighbor that did it. Clearly it was a controlling personality probably thinking that the high grass makes the rest of the neighborhood look bad. LOL

Don't get me started on Disney's greed and stupidity by reproducing beautiful classics into botched up live action BS.

I just saw something yesterday that they are doing a live action version of Moana. That's not even an old movie yet. :o :o :o
After Little Mermaid, I will have to be much more convinced to see a live action version again. :o
It wasn't horrible, but it doesn't stack up to the original. :o
