Last Week's Movie Quote...
Aunt Della Lindsay: Talk to her? You ought to get rid of her. That's what you ought to do. I'd give her a piece of my mind!
Uncle Matt Lindsay: You better hang on to what you got left, honey.
It comes from the 1940 movie "Mexican Spitfire".
It was the second in a series of "Spitfire" movies about a Mexican girl who marries an American ad executive who lives with his aunt and uncle. His aunt and uncle are polar opposites. She is a massive prude who doesn't think Carmelita is good enough for her nephew Dennis. Meanwhile his uncle is a fun loving guy who just loves having Carmelita around.
On a side note, during the new movie "Marlowe" that takes place in Hollywood a billboard advertising "Mexican Spitfire" shows up in a couple of scenes. I personally love the Spitfire movies, but I really wonder how many of the "Marlowe" audience has a clue what the movie on the billboard is.
I really don't think the trailer does the movie justice. It's not an Oscar contender, but it's a fun movie.
