That is just horrible and they are still looking for bodies. It was such a poor mess of an area and now this! :( :(

Right! I guess the first aftershock was almost as high as the earthquake. I can't imagine an earthquake that high on the rector scale (or whatever they use to measure). The news clip looked so unreal :(

The first 'aftershock' was actually a second major quake at almost the same strength as the first.

7.9 on the Richter and then 7.5

I saw a headline today that said the death toll was as high as 7000 now. :o :o :o

Oh jeez, and that is probably not even the final total as they do not have the machinery or tools to get through it all. :( :(

I just read one comment that said 8000 and now another that says it's 9000. :( :( :(

Somebody said they heard it could go as high as 20,000. :(

That is horrific. I wish the world could come together better when catastrophes like these happen.

Granted I haven't really been watching the news for awhile now, but it seems like this story isn't has big as it should be. Or maybe it's just that I haven't been watching the news?

Oh yes, I think it has been pretty big news and the UN signed off for more aid. I see a lot about it on the news still every night.

I try NOT to watch it but it is such a habit for me.

Usually old shows on one of the streaming channels. lol...
