I just looked up my billing at Mayo to see if I could find out how much the MRI was going to cost.

It's a Good News/Bad News situation.

The bad news was that the cost was listed. $2,144. and some change.
That is pre-insurance of course.

The good news is that is so much better than what some of the cost estimates I was hearing. Things like $3000-$5000.

After insurance takes their cut, I should owe approximately $210.
Thank God for insurance.

There were also a couple of other office visits, so that will probably tack on another $50, but it's so much nicer than the possible $500 I could be owing.

Selfishly, I will be able to make the November vacation plans a little more solid. :)

Apparently "prom" politics didn't make it to Minnesota.


Minnesota senator refuses to meet with anyone who supported opponent
When the Minnesota Nurses Association contacted state Sen. Scott Newman and requested a meeting, they got a nasty surprise. His office sent a note back saying that the senator will not meet with anyone who supported his opponent, either financially or otherwise. “After some careful checking, I discovered that the MNA had donated to Kimball’s campaign. Your association will be unable to schedule an appointment with Senator Newman,” the note said.
