Well, maybe it's a night in the life...

Tuesday morning I got my second Shingles vaccination.
After my first vaccine my arm was sore for 4 days and that night I got the chills.
Well, last night I started to feel chilled again, and so I messaged a former coworker/nurse to ask her if it was okay to pop some Tylenol. She said it should be okay.
I stood up to go upstairs and get the Tylenol and as soon as I stood up, I started having severe shaking chills.
Have you ever tried to get two pills out of a full bottle when you were shaking so bad?
I finally got a couple of them.
Then I Was shaking so bad I couldn't type on the computer, so I bundled up in a blanket and just kind of napped the night away.
By morning I wasn't shaking any more, but I still felt like crap.
I went to bed a little early and managed to sleep most of the day, which was surprising after sleeping so much of the night.
I'm not feeling too bad now, just a little drained.

On a side note, I asked the nurse who gave me the shot, so, I am like covered now, or is it kind of maybe...
She told me the old shots were about 35% effective, but the new ones are now 98% effective.
So that's great news, but getting through the side effects is a bitch. :o :o :o

In The News...

I saw this headline...
"Roku Beats Q3 Estimates, Stock Plummets on Weak Outlook"

Seriously, how does that make any sense?
I think the only thing wrong with this country is Wall Street. :o

Oh wow Jon, you really had a bad reaction. I hope you are fine now.

So now there are new Shingles vaccinations? When did they come out?
I am wondering if I got the new or the old, hmmm.

Hugs, Helen

Thanks, I am going to research it. that is a huge difference in preventing shingles!

That is one of the things I dread, getting that, shudder!

Hugs, helen

Urghhn these are unpleasant side effects. I would have probably freaked out.

I didn't had any side-effects from the first and the other two just caused a heavy arm.
The second was the worst, I had pain for a couple of the days and could barely move it.
But my mom had flu like symptoms after her fourth shot.

Yeah, you know that it was caused from it and that it would go away, yet these are awful side-effects.

Speaking of 'rona: How many shots do you need?
We're told that we need three if we work in the medical field but some say that if we had it, that counts as one shot as well. (confusing I know)

I'm so lucky that I didn't caught it a third time after my third shot D:
I first had it - then after months I got my first shot - then I have it again like half a year later - had the second and the third

Maybe that's an European thing *shrugs shoulders*
We had a lot of discussions here about if it counts as shot or not, and if how long. Some said six months, then later other experts said that you're immune to only for three months.

It was hella confusing, since you never knew when you should make an appointment and then they suddenly decided to split it into "people in the medical field" and the rest of the people.

Indeed, wouldn't be so confusing. At the moment they all seem to agree that you need three shots but let's see what they will say in a few months.

That could be possible. I would have to grab my vaccine book and check the name of it. It was one I've never heard of before.

It was a longer name but then you know how fancy companies can get when it comes to naming their pharmacies.
Super long fancy name you can't barley pronounce the first time you read it 😂

Of course. The bigger the name, the bigger the sum you've to pay.
This is so ridiculous.

We should create our own big name.
The ultimate name :O

Shingrex? I didn't remember it being a two-shot vaccine, but it's been a few years since I got mine. And I didn't have a reaction, interesting. Did you have shingles previously?

Wall Street is definitely a plague on the country, constantly demanding improved profits quarter over quarter.

When I had what must have been the second of my pneumonias when my immune system collapsed and my wife and I knew what was going on (90%+ certainty but no official medical declaration, that was another 4-6 months out), we wanted to come to Phoenix so I could recover in warmer weather at lower altitude where the breathing is easier, except my mom was recovering from shingles!  We didn't want me in my poor immunological state to have to also contend with that!
