I was fixing supper tonight and had the news on and heard some very surprising news...

Our US Congressman Jim Hagedorn died today.

Apparently he was sicker then he was telling the public.

He was supposedly battling prostate cancer for the last couple of years and more recently said that he had tested positive for Covid.
Now according to an article I saw online, he died after battling kidney cancer. :o

Wow, yes I heard the name on the news but I didn't put it together with your state. And he was GOP. The Covid probably did him in, along with the cancer.

Pretty sure he supported the over turn of the election count. :o :o :o

I saw that in the news. Unfortunately where you are is considered a Republican majority district and there was no Democrat running against him, so the Governor will appoint a replacement who will likely be of the same party.

I don't remember 2020, but the cycle before that was almost a recount because it was so close.
I think. LOL.......
Maybe I am thinking of the state level. :p
Our current governor was actually our Congressman for awhile. :)

Yes, the one before that was close, but then there was a population shift the next election and that's when it became considered a Republican district.

Sadly SE Minnesota is fairly Red.
There is way too much money around here.
That and the F part of the DFL, Farmers, have left the Democrat Party.
