A Day In The Life.......

Starting on Monday I had 6 shifts left to work on my current station.
Monday night we only had 3 patients and so they didn't need me and I was floated to another station. Coincidentally, to my new station. I had a good night.
Tuesday night we had 3 patients again, and so I was floated to another station. This time not so good. Sat for 8 hours with a mentally disturbed patient that thankfully behaved and I didn't have any issues with them. Oh, and let's add in the fact the patient was also positive for Covid. But they had been there long enough that they no longer required isolation, but I still wore an N95 all night long.
I am not expecting to actually work on my station any of the remaining shifts I have left. :(
Which means no going away party for me Saturday night.
And policy on our station is, you don't float on your last shift. Well, there is no way, if we have so few patients they are going to be allowed to keep me.

I can't wait until your transfer goes thru, this is awful. Will you float less once at your new station? I hope.

It's hard to say if I will float less.
Lately they have been busier then my station, but prior to Covid, they were fairly low in patient numbers too. So I hope it doesn't go back to that. :o
