Jan. 24th, 2006 03:06 amI watched an amazing movie this weekend. "Rory O'Shea Was Here". It is a small movie out of Ireland about a young boy named Rory who moves into a home for people with disabilities. Rory has ALS. He befriends another young resident by the name of Michael Connolly who has cerebal palsy and was abandoned at the home by his father after his mother died. Rory seems to be the only one that can understand Michael's jumbles speech and they strike up a friendship. Rory desperately wants to live on his own, and through a twist of fate he and Michael get that chance.
"Rory O'Shea Was Here" has been running on HBO recently on their HBO Signature channel. I highly recommend seeing it if you get the chance. The next couple of airings that I know of are Tuesday morning at 9 am Eastern time and then again Sunday at 4:45 pm Eastern time.
Warning: Keep the tissues handy.
