Theater.......
Jan. 13th, 2006 01:20 amI was offered a part in the show I auditioned for. I know it is stupid, but I don't remember the exact title of the show, but it is something like, The Almost True Tales of Robin Hood. I will be playing the Town's Guy. He is basically the narrator of the show.
From the little bits we were reading at auditions, the show sounds like it will be a riot. It is very tongue in cheek.
One section we read had Robin and the Town's Guy talking. The Town's Guy was telling about some things and Robin would repeat what he said. After a couple of times doing that the Town's Guy tells Robin, I don't think you are understanding this whole narration thing. Robin responds by saying, Yes he does, but if he didn't repeat things the Town's Guy would have more lines and because he, Robin, is the main character he has to have the most lines.
Our first rehearsal is Tuesday, and then after that all my free time will be taken up trying to memorize all my lines. It has been so long since I have been in a real show (the Nutcracker doesn't count, you don't have any lines) that it is kind of scary thinking about all the memorizing I will have to do.
Wish me luck. Or as we say in the theater, break a leg. lol.....
