A Day In The Life.......
Nov. 13th, 2019 05:59 pmThe annoyances, and that's being polite, continue.
Don't remember where I left off, so I will try to do a brief update.
Monday morning I went out and got some estimates on getting the front bumper of my vehicle fixed.
1. To just wire and screw things together would be $100 or less.
2. To replace the whole bumper, just over $1000.
I am leaning to replacing the whole thing, just that I know a few months down the road it's not going to fall apart on me.
Stopped and talked to the insurance office and they are just waiting for me to decide.
Then I went home and tried to sleep for the day. Last few days I have only been getting about 4+ hours of sleep. UGH.....
Monday night I headed out to the truck to head for work, and I had not steering/power steering in my truck. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!
So I quick grabbed the keys to dad's car, and he said, I don't know if it has enough gas. WHAT? It's like 7F and you don't have gas in your car? Thankfully there was, but when I started it, the Service Vehicle Soon light came on. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I left work in the morning the service light was still on.
I stopped at my mechanic and told him about what was going on, then I went home and called AAA to get it towed out to my mechanic. Surprisingly, it only took about 1/2 hour for them to come.
Well, they fixed it. Apparently when they worked on something earlier, they just needed to adjust some valve.
And he didn't even charge me for it. :o :o :o
Drove over to the grocery store, and I tried to turn my car radio on, and it wouldn't. Annoying, but I figured for the time being I could live with it for now.
Tuesday night I went out to my truck to go to work, and.....
I had a dead battery. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Took dad's car again. Service light came on again. But then didn't come on this morning after work.
I stopped at my mechanic again, and explained what was going on and he was perplexed about the situation.
I told him I was going to go home and get it jumped and it the radio isn't work, could he look at it. He offered to come home with me and jump the truck. Very nice of him. He connected up the charger and it started fairly easy and the radio seemed to be working. :o So he took the truck back to the shop to check things over. I walked back out there this afternoon, so still not sleeping much, and he said he couldn't see anything wrong with anything. He said maybe something got stuck when the radio was turned off, or maybe a door didn't get shut all the way and the inside lights stayed on and then drained the battery.
Oops, I forgot, after sending the truck off to the shop this morning, I was sitting here trying to get through emails before heading on to journal land, and I started to doze off. I woke up and went back to emails, and bingo we lost power for some reason. Only we didn't lose complete power. The lights were barely on and other things were gone completely, aka internet and phones.
Anyway, so of course this was not short, but I sit here waiting for work time and fingers crossed big time that my truck will start tonight. We are getting a dusting of snow, and I just feel more comfortable driving my vehicle than my dad's car with snow on the road.
Good vibes please...
Oh, and I do have an appointment on the 21st to have a temporary fix for the bumper, because I have at least one maybe two trips to the Twin Cities planned for the end of this month. And I don't want it to fall off while driving down the highway. :o
Then I will set up an appointment for the full fix.
