A Day In The Life.......
Sep. 24th, 2019 08:33 amYou are so not going to believe this...
Guess who was rearended again this morning?
YEP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was trying to back out of my parking spot in the ramp at work and WHAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got in my vehicle. Turned it on. Put it in reverse. Turned around and a vehicle was just passing behind me.
When that one got passed, I started to back up. I could see headlights, but they were far enough away that I assumed they would stop and let me out. NOPE. WHAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I pulled back into my spot and so the vehicle next to me decides they are going to leave. Then the lady that hit be got back in her vehicle and pulled into that open spot.
Another nurse comes up to me and hands me his card, asking if I was okay and saying he was a witness. How kind of you.
The lady wanted to exchange insurance information and I, after the last incident, thought about calling the cops. Of course I don't have the Rochester City Police number on my phone, so I said I was going over to the stairwell and see if the hospital operator could give me their number.
So anyway, I talked to the police department and they weren't really interested because it was private property. Thanks for nothing.
The lady had walked over and met me there and she said she talked to her husband, who just happens to be an insurance agent. How convenient. She said that he said because it's private property the police won't care, and I said that's exactly what she just told me on the phone.
Then as we were walking back to the vehicles, she, imho, let slip, That's how it happens, I just happen to look down to do something and I looked up and bang.
SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are admitting to me that you weren't paying attention to your driving. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So we went out separate ways and I headed home to stop at the insurance agency and got the paper work rolling to start a claim.
Thankfully she said it wouldn't count against me and my insurance rate. :o
Now I have to stop at the repair shop and get it looked at.
Visibly it doesn't look like there is much damage. It looks like she hit me right at the area where the trailor hitch would attach to my vehicle. There is a cut in the plastic molding right above that area, and an "abrasion" in the paint further over on the bumper. Fingers crossed extra tight that framing or anything didn't get bent up underneath every thing. :o
I have always said there is going to be an accident out there in the hospital ramp because people drive like idiots. Thankfully it was my vehicle that got hit and not me. :o :o :o
