A Day In The Life.......

disneydream06I went to see the new The Lion King movie with my friend, thirteenrocks last night.
Apparently the critics have not been overly kind to the movie, but, imho, they got it wrong again.
I thought it was GREAT.
I saw an article that said Timon, the meerkat, steals the movie, and I think I have to agree. Timon and Pumba were a RIOT. I was literally LOL in the movie theater. Thankfully there was another person that was laughing quite a bit too.
Everybody is making a big deal about Beyonce voicing the grown up Nala, and all I have to say is, her voice could have been anybody to me. It meant absolutely nothing to me.
Speaking of voices, I think it was great that they brought back James Earl Jones to voice Mufasa. How could you possibly replace him. :o
I wish they would have done the same for Jeremy Irons who did Scar's voice in the animated version. He just dripped evil. :) The voice of Scar in the new movie was okay, just not the same.
The hyenas were played a little more "straight" and less funny.
I think if I was going to change something it would be the wildebeest stampede. It felt a little too casual.
Suggestion: Don't waste your money on the 3D version. We went to a 3D showing and either it wasn't 3D at all, or it was sooooo beyond subtle. The glasses really bothered me too, and I could take them off and the movie looked okay to me. Usually if you take the glasses off the movie will look kind of blurry.
Anyway, the bottom line for me is, I will be going back to see it again. The audiences are rating it an A, and I have to agree.
