A Day in the Life.....
May. 19th, 2019 09:06 pmLast night I went to see Cher in concert.
I believe that makes 8 times now that I have seen this amazing performer/lady.
Cher was amazing as usual, but the concert/night was disappointing/annoying.
Cher looked and sounded fantastic. How many 73 year olds can have that said about them.
My seat was nothing to be sneezed at. I was in the 14th row, center section on the floor.
I got to the arena, and the entrance gate was packed. I got through security without any pain, and I headed for the souvenir stand, you all know me and my souvenirs. :p Yes, I spent a small fortune there, but no Neil, I did not spend $500. Not quite anyway. :p Found my seat and waited.
The opening act was Niles Roger and Chic. They were the opening act for Duran Duran when I saw them a couple of years back. They pretty much did the same act. They performed many songs that he wrote for other acts. One was "Let's Dance" that was a hit by David Bowie and was sung by one of the guys in the act. WOW, he really sounded like David Bowie. They performed for 45-50 minutes and really had the place rocking.
Close to a half hour later, Cher began.
The disappointing of the night was the show was basically her current residency show in Las Vegas that I saw back in 2017 with a few changes. She added some of her ABBA covers, but sadly, she cut some of her most classic old hits, Gypsies Tramps and Thieves, Half Breed, and Dark Lady. :o :o :o
Only other disappointment, no encores. Show ended, that was it, and the lights came on. :(
Annoyances? Firstly, some idiot spilled their drink at some point during the early part of the concert and soaked my bag of souvenirs. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thankfully, I think it was just water. When I got home, I threw the tshirts in the wash and they seem to be okay. Still it pissed me off. Secondly, not sure if the guy next to me was drunk or just wore himself out through the evening, but he kind of turned into a party pooper to sit next to. Lastly, the parking ramp I was in is the most annoying to get out of. I got back to my car at about 11:20 pm. Because I hate to sit in lines in my car, I just sat there and waited for the traffic to thin out before even trying to get out. It was literally a half hour before I even started my car to leave. Finally out on the street and heading home a couple of minutes before midnight, and then drove home in rain all the way. The highway between Rochester and the Twin Cities that I use is far from in great shape and in the rain it really sucks. There are some places you can barely see painted lane markings.
Even with all that whining, I still loved seeing Cher again. :) I did have to laugh at somebody on the walk back to the rain. Somebody behind me was having a total love affair with Cher's ass. Wow, she was great. She was so great. Her ass was amazing. Did you see her ass. Her ass was great. That ass. That ass. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, now to share some pics, okay a lot of pics, from the show. I will make a couple of entries to not over power you all in one.
She dropped out of the sky per usual...
