disneydream06: (Frustration 2)

I know I shouldn't let it bother me, but it's kind of feels like the final kick in the butt.

My therapist is letting me go for now with exercises to do on my own.
I understand we are moving into a time of SLOW recovery, assuming there is a recovery. And it will save me a lot of money.
But coming so close on the heels of being told by the doctors, in not so many words, that it's something I am going to have to live with, it just feels like I have been kicked to the curb.

Pity Party of One, your table is ready for you. :(

What difference does it make, apart from saving you money?

From my side, I don't think it makes a big difference, minus the money part. From his side, I suppose it opens up his time to book new clients.
Not sure if that makes sense or not.
I think he just sees that if we are simply waiting for the nerve to heal, it can take forever, and why continue coming in twice a week, when we won't see any results any time soon, and I can do some exercises on my own at home.
As long as I am good and do the exercises. :o

ugh but it seems that might be the case but if you are honest, it might be better in the long run. It's very frustrating but why waste your time and money on something that isn't working anyway? BIG HUGS and I am frustrated for you.

I can understand your frustration, it probably feels like no one really cares and that they've given up on you.
Not paying for physio any more must be a bonus tho. As I mentioned before, you'll have to retrain yourself for certain movements, put your bad arm in your coat first, push doors open with your good arm, use a different hand to put your seatbelt on etc etc. And keep up with the excersizes. I really hope that you will find some relief soon x

I think that is kind of the feeling I left this morning with, abandonment. :(

I totally understand where he was coming from, it's just the timing of it came at a really bad time. :(

Aw try not to see it so negatively! When I had that shoulder injury, I was only prescribed PT for (I think) six weeks. I didn't pay for any of it, my insurance did, but that seems to be pretty standard that after so-and-so many weeks it's stopped and you do exercises at home unless it worsens or you're re-assessed and prescribed more. Maybe it's something like that?

*hugs*

He did tell me that if I notice it seems to be worse, or if I start to see improvements to get back in contact with him.
I wish mine was covered. Thankfully insurance covered a lot of it, but I still mailed in a check for $260 this morning. :o

i may be the only one who sees it as abandonment
so move over and i'll "cry in the beer" with you

just when you want somebody to be on your side and be your cheerleaders in trying to manage your situation people who should be helping you seem to say with a shrug, "sorry not my problem, nothing i can do"

but the hell with them!
you are strong and you can do what you need to do!
and we here are you cheerleaders
we may not have technical expertise, but we have spirit
and juju!
Go You!!!!

You know I wish the very best of outcomes for you. If you have a set number of PT visits per year, perhaps it's best not to use them all up. You'll have to be consistent in doing the exercises. Maybe, you can figure a way to incorporate them into the weight loss program and kill two birds with one stone.

Cheer up, my friend! It's obvious from the response to this post, you have a lot of people who care about you and support you!

HUGS!

I don't know of a limited number, but I wouldn't put it past Mother to have one, and not tell you until you have used them all up.

The rational side of me totally understands, but the emotional side of me is in control at the moment, and it just feels like more rejection.

it sucks Jon, but don't let it get to you.
Focus on what you still can do and perhaps like me, go for herbs.
A lot of herbs are very good for your system. They don't work as fast as pills, but if you have exercises you can do at home and combine that with the use of herbs, you can go far.
never give up hope

Sorry to hear that PT has "failed" you, in my opinion. Have you ever considered a personal trainer?? To help strengthen that area?? Just a thought.

Right now I am just looking to stop the massive drain on my wallet. I still haven't gotten bills for either MRI or EMG. I was able to find the MRI before insurance cost of the MRI was $3600+. No clue what the EMG will be.
