Not sleeping again, so I finished off Book No. 31.
I read "The Mirror Crack'd From Side to Side" by Agatha Chirstie.
I was vaguely familiar with this story from seeing the movie starring Elizabeth Taylor several years ago, so it wasn't a total mystery of who did what, but the little details were all filled in again.
All in all there was a lot of sadness in this story of big Hollywood movie star how moves to a small English village while filming a movie. They throw a party for a local ambulance association and promptly have a death/murder occur at the party. :o
More threats of murder continue against the movie star. Eventually 2-3 more people are killed.
Miss Marple eventually figures things out and the sad truth is revealed.

I had started another book, but one night at work I was sitting with a patient in a dark room, so to pass the time while he slept I got my Nook out and started in on this book. Once you start a Christie mystery you just have to finish it. lol...
I will hopefully get back to the other book, although it's a bit dry. I am a 1/4 of the way into it, so that's good. :)

I remember when Jason had to have an EEG (they thought staring spells could have been seizure-like activity and had to rule it out, nope, just autistic daydreams).

We had to sit in a dark room and he was supposed to fall asleep, but he kept poking the monitor that was recording his vitals so the nurse had to turn it off, and then he persistently kept trying to interact with me so I had to give him 1mg melatonin at the nurse's advising and ignore him until he fell asleep. I played on my phone and texted my mom ("nope, he's still not asleep").

I do prefer real books, but a lighted Nook really does come in handy some times. :)

Well done! I've started a Western, the first one I've read in quite some time! I'm sorry that I couldn't arrange to meet you in person. You were in the cities twice while I was visiting. Both times I was tied up looking at real estate:( Hopefully, another time!

I somehow never was interested in A. Christie's books although they are so famous and a big success.
I'm glad you like them though

The only thing I really don't enjoy about many of the Marple books are she's portrayed/looked upon as a helpless old woman/invalid.
I grew up with the Margaret Rutherford image of Miss Marple, and she's so not an invalid. lol...

"sitting with a patient in a dark room", how often do you have to do that? Thank goodness for electronic books with back lighting :-o

You are so right, an Agatha Christie book must be finished :-)

Lately it hasn't been too often that I have had to sit all night. But even if I am not sitting all night, I usually end up having to cover breaks of nurses or other aides, and so that's an hour at a crack.

It's okay as long as the patient is quiet, other wise it's a HUGE PIA. :p
I will probably have to do it this weekend now. Yippy... NOT...
